King’s Speech

Another good one from Josh Cole featuring beat boxer Kila Kela and freestyle rap champion Stig doing a little thing about the recent Royal Wedding. Listen to this one, it’s good.

Gungor – When Death Dies

Remember that amazing performance I posted up about Gungor a while back? Well, they just released this video of a live acoustic performance of a new song entitled, “When Death Dies” from their upcoming album Ghosts Upon The Earth, which will be released on September 20, 2011. Can’t wait to hear more off their new album!

Music In My Ear

So I haven’t been blogging as much as I like, and am definitely behind on some key posts – like this one. Here are some albums that have been on repeat in my ear. I’m not going to write anything specific about any of them, but all I have to say is let the music speak for itself.

City & Colour – Little Hell

Taking Back Sunday – Taking Back Sunday

Lupe Fiasco – Lasers

Lykke Li – Wounded Rhymes

Bright Eyes – The People’s Key

Death Cab For Cutie – Codes and Keys

Bon Iver – Bon Iver

Josh Vietti – Hip Hop Violin Medley

A video clip with Josh Vietti, a pop violinist based in Orange County, California, performing various famous hip hop songs on violin. Just in case you were wondering what the songs were in order:
1. Terror Squad – Lean Back
2. Kanye West – Flashing Lights
3. Chris Brown – Forever
4. Kid Cudi – Memories

Dirty Gold – California Sunrise

If this track by Dirty Gold doesn’t get you excited for summer, I don’t know what will. The song is called California Sunrise and is off of their recently released 5 track EP called, Roar, which you can listen to HERE. Anyhow, these guys make a kind of afro-beat, Vampire Weekend surf rock that’s totally fitting for the warm days that are yet to come. I can tell you right now that this album is 100% going to be on repeat this summer. It’s timeless, it’s filled with sunlight and I bet you’re going to love it.
