Choose Your Weapon

One of the more peculiar war photos I’ve seen lately. This man provided guitar accompaniment to a group of people fighting the war in Egypt.

International Balloon Festival

Here are some pictures I took at the International Balloon Festival in Saint-Jean-sur-Richlieu, QC on Saturday. Maria wanted to check it out before she left for Australia this morning, so I had the pleasure of joining her with a few friends. The festival is on till this Sunday, August 22nd and is definitely worth checking out. Speaking of which, I think Akon is going to be performing their this Saturday, which is kind of random… Another added bonus is they had my favourite lemonade from Lemonade Heaven! If you know what I’m talking about, then you know what’s up, the first time I had this was way back when I used to work at the CNE in Toronto.

G20 Chaos – Toronto in Flames

Check out some of these pictures from the G20 Summit riots in Toronto last week.  Canadian authorities planning for the event spent an estimated $1 billion, mostly for security. Protesters from all over gathered in Toronto, looking to have their voices heard on a broad range of issues, from indigenous rights to anti-capitalist ideals, to human and animal rights, and much more. Many peaceful marches took place throughout the weekend, but on Saturday, a small group of “black bloc” anarchists became violent, smashing storefronts and burning several police vehicles.

There’s definitely going to be those who take complete advantage of the situation and go all out, which simply makes things much worst than it should be.  But I definitely think this is by far one of the most violent conditions Toronto has ever been in.
