KR3W – Up and Coming 2010

KR3W has just been killing – I’m looking really forward to seeing more of their 2010 line. They have even teamed up with Erik Ellington (owns SUPRA) and The Berrics to drop The Ellington X Berrics Collaboration. This is a must have limited edition collection! They are definitely one of the higher-end skate brands, but this is something i definitely wasn’t expecting. I absolutely love the classier look they’re going for.

HUF Surprise Pack

It’s that time of year again when HUF offers their surprise pack. Don’t worry, this isn’t as sketch as it probably seems, if you visit their website, you could do the transaction by credit card. I think I’ll probably drop $45-60 to see what I get, which will probably be a few shirts, a hat, stickers and maybe a sweater/shoes. But anyway, if you don’t know who they are, I highly suggest that you check them out.

Crappy Handshakes

One of my biggest pet peeves are flimsy handshakes ESPECIALLY from men…  They would put their fingers (not their whole hand) gently into mine and barely even squeeze. I’m not talking about a kung-fu death grip, but at least shake my hand with some confidence! Apparently, handshakes are extremely important when making a first impression, which often times boils down to whether you get the job or not…  Anyway, The Oatmeal has done a great job with their illustrations for their handshake series, which you can check out here.

Haiti earthquake victims placed in mass graves

 The impact of images like these is beyond words right now. The situation in Haiti is so terrible that people are really left with no choice but to get the bodies out of the main city as quickly as possible — and the only way to do that is to put the bodies into a dump truck and to dump them into large pits on the countryside.

There will be no identification process, no notification of remaining family members, and no official record. And to put things into perspective, this is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of the amount of bodies that the Haitian government expects to recover from the debris.

 

ESPN 3D AVAILABLE IN JUNE!

During the previews to  Avatar, I thought to myself, “hmm 3D at home would be pretty cool, digital cable – but 3d” and so here we are. Basically, it all begins with Sony offering 3D Tv’s this summer, and right in time for the World Cup, ESPN will launch ESPN3D. ESPN promises to show at least 85 live events on this new channel, which may come at an added cost for viewers. If you are no stranger to 3D movies, you will understand how seeing Beckham bend it in all glories of height, width and depth is a life changing experience.

Ramon Sampson drum-off champion

Guitar Center named Ramon Sampson, a 19-year-old from Cordova, Tennessee, as this year’s Guitar Center Drum Off winner. This kid is definitely some new talent and is bringing innovation to the table. The video was great to watch, but I just wish the boom guy in the back wasn’t chewing gum and looking like he had the worst job in the world.
